This is a great – and busy – time of year. The Holidays, and Holiday shopping, tend to wear us all out. Keep in mind that Jewelry makes great Christmas gifts for all your friends and relatives, bosses and co-workers. It is personal, unique, can be appreciated again and again, and – if you shop at Ou La La Designs – it’s affordable.

It also makes a perfect reward for yourself for getting done whatever Holiday tasks you have in front of you this year.

Saturday we were at the St. Wenceslaus Fall Bowtique. We always enjoy their shows and this was no different. We were afraid that the 11:00 a.m. kickoff for the Nebraska game would hurt attendance, but it didn’t seem to do so. We had the game on the radio in our booth and kept everyone updated as Nebraska dominated Michigan State.

We didn’t have a show this last weekend. On Sunday we did our annual “graze the Nebraska City apple orchards” with the kids and grand-kids. Ate way too much, but apples are good for you, right?!? Even if they are covered with caramel.

Back to work this week. We have a Home Party on Wednesday night that we are looking forward to. This is our second show at Donna’s and I know it will be a blast.

And next Saturday come see us at the St. Wenceslaus Fall Bowtique, 153rd and Pacific. We have done their Spring and Fall shows for several years and they are always a lot of fun. We will be there from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. We will have the Nebraska game on the radio so stop by to check the score.

We are taking this weekend off to concentrate on the Nebraska / Wisconsin football game, but are making up for it next weekend. We will be at Oak View Mall on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in their Home Based Business Fair, and also at the Skutt High School Fall Boutique on Saturday from 9:00 to 4:00. The Oak View show goes from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on Friday and Saturday and 11:00 to 5:00 on Sunday.

The show runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and features a full breakfast, lunch, desserts and a bake sale, and of course lots of crafts and gifts. Come and check out Ou La La Designs’ booth and see our new “soft  line” and LeAnn’s new AL13 line that we don’t even have on our web site yet. You are going to love it.

You can’t miss it just south-west of 204th and Q Streets. (204th is also Highway 6)

It is on the Coventry campus for the second year and it look like perfect weather for ballooning and wine tasting. There is a beer garden, too, for those who prefer tall and cold.

And there be music too – two of my favorite bands: High Heel featuring Lisa Larsen is playing Friday night (and I understand our friend Jimmy Weber is sitting in with them for this gig). Saturday night our other favorite band, ShurThing will be there from 5:00 to 11:00 so don’t miss it.

And if that’s not enough, Ou La La Designs will be there and LeAnn will be showing her new line of hats and caps that we just got in last week. She is also introducing a new line of jewelry that she is making – we haven’t even named it yet. It is fun and exciting – you ‘ll have to come out to see it. We are very excited about it.

Coming up next is the Nebraska Wine & Balloon Festival, Friday & Saturday, August 12th – 13th, at the   Coventry Campus – just south 204th & Q Street. They are evening shows (5:00 to 11:00 pm) both nights so hopefully not so hot.

Hot air balloons, music, wine, beer and jewelry – what’s not to like.

The weather is hot, but so is the music, the food, and the fun. Some of Omaha’s best bands are performing live on stage and some of Omaha’s best restaurants are cooking and grilling and waiting for you to try. Great fun for the kids, too, with some huge inflatables and bouncers. The only thing that isn’t hot is the beer – it’s ice cold and and perfect while you listen to the music, eat, and visit the visit your favorite vendors – like Ou La La Designs of course.

The weather? Well it’s a little hot, too. But it could be worse – so go to church first, then come and visit us at the O-Fest, 11:00 am to 8:00 pm today.
